LOIS PARISH EVANS, NEW ZEALAND

Textiles and creativity have been lifelong passions for Lois Parish Evans. An award-winning mixed media textile artist and art quilter, she holds a BA in Visual Art and has been creating and exhibiting for many years.

Her work consistently explores the extraordinary within the ordinary, often drawing inspiration from the natural environment and landscape. Through line, shape, pattern, and colour, Lois brings a unique perspective to her art. She thrives on experimentation, incorporating techniques such as raw edge appliqué, stencilling, stamping, printmaking, hand colouring, painting, hand stitching, thread painting, and free-motion quilting — often layering multiple processes to create distinctive works.

In addition to her art practice, Lois is passionate about teaching, fostering creative environments that encourage participants to explore their own ideas with a strong focus on design.

Lois exhibits regularly in both solo and group shows, with her work featured in national and international exhibitions across New Zealand, Australia, France, Canada, Japan, and the USA. Her art is represented in both private and public collections worldwide.
