During this workshop, students will learn the basic technique to construct this piece and learn how to sew curves without sewing any curves.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS
Curve Elegance – the art of stitching without curves with Ana Buzzalino
One-day Class: Saturday, April 12
Class times: 9am to 5pm (2 hour lunch break)
Students need to bring:
EITHER
Purchase the kit from Ana’s at this page on her website. She will bring the kit with her. It includes everything you will need to make the project plus batting, backing and binding fabric. Students would need to purchase the kit before December 1 in order for Ana to ship it to class.
OR bring the following supplies:
- Pellon fusible interfacing – Ana uses and suggests Pellon 911FF – 13” x 15”
Fabric:
Note: The fabric sizes given below are the size of the pieces needed to cut the shapes out of and what’s included in the kit – if you choose to purchase one. No need to cut fabrics before-hand as you can use yardage or fat quarters. It just gives you an idea of how large a piece of fabric you will need. Use the colour photo as a guide.
- A1 – 3” x 5” – light yellow
- A2 – 3.5” x 5” – medium yellow
- A3 – 7” x 4.5” – dark yellow / yellow-orange
- A4 – 6” x 7” – red
- A5 – 6.5” x 2.5” – red
- A6 – 9” x 7” – red
- A7 + D1 – 12 ¼” x 6” – background – Teal in my sample
- B1 – 3” x 4” – light green
- B2 + B3 – 4.5” x 5.5” – darker green
- C1 – 2“ x 3“ – brown
- C2 – 4“ x 5“ – background – Teal in my sample
- E1 – 7” x 4” – background – Teal in my sample
- E2 – 10” x 5” – background – Teal in my sample
- E3 – 10” x 6” – background – Teal in my sample
- E4 – 11” x 3.5” – background – Teal in my sample
- E5 – 9 ¼” x 6” – background – Teal in my sample

All students will need to bring:
- Thread for piecing to match your fabrics
- Parchment paper
- A pencil
- Fine permanent marker
- Small glue stick or fabric glue stick
- Thread snips or small scissors
- Sewing machine needles
To complete the project at home (do not bring to class) you will need:
- 2 – 2” strips for binding
- 14” x 15” approx backing fabric
- 14” x 15” approx batting of choice
- Thread for quilting
Sewing machines will be provided.
