PACKALICIOUS CASE

This case is perfect for carrying and storing your projects. It contains exterior and interior pockets for you to store your different tools, supplies, and fabrics. It features grab handles and an adjustable carry strap along with a fixed page making it perfect for taking to workshops or retreats.

 

Students will learn many skills useful for bag making and other sewing projects including:

  • How to attach zips to quilted foam, vinyl and mesh
  • Cutting and machine sewing bias binding
  • Machine sewing techniques for working with vinyl and mesh
  • Installing magnetic snaps
  • Making handles and adjustable carry straps

 

Select which size you would like to make during the workshop.

Small: 4 inches deep x 14 inches wide x 10 inches high

Large: 4 inches deep x 18 inches wide x 13 inches high

 

Skill level: Advanced beginner

Class Requirements

TWO-DAY CLASS: Saturday & Sunday, April, 17 & 18

Class times: 9am to 5pm

Materials fee: Small – $82.50 or Large – $ 94.50

Payable direct to the tutor. Please have the exact amount in cash in an envelope with your name on it.

Materials kit includes:

  • Woven interfacing
  • Vinyl
  • Mesh
  • Polypro strapping
  • Handbag zipper and pulls
  • Hardware (triangle rings, swivels, adjuster and magnetic snaps)
  • Basting tape
  • Base board
  • 2 ½ inch and 3 ½ inch templates

You will need to bring:

  • Sewalicious Case Pattern – Purchase from www.kaelaspatch.com.au
  • Fabrics and soft and stable foam as per pattern
  • Rotary cutter
  • Cutting mat
  • Rulers (6 ½ x 24 inch and 12 ½ x 12 ½ inch)
  • Scissors for vinyl and zippers
  • Scissors for fabric
  • Thread snips
  • Wonder clips (minimum 50)
  • Water erasable fabric marking pen
  • Matching threads for topstitching
  • Sewing machine needles (size 90/14)
  • Safety pin
  • General sewing supplies (eg quick unpick)
  • Stiletto
  • Clip ’n’ Glide Bodkin

Prior to the class, please complete the following steps.

  1. Print out your pattern – if PDF version purchased
  2. Cut out and label – Feature Fabric, Main Fabric, and Soft and Stable Foam
  3. Construction Step 1 – Quilting
  4. Construction Step 2 – Trimming Quilted Sets.

Sewing machines will be provided.
