Turn your fabric scraps into something spectacular! Join Secrets of Scrappy Applique and discover Shannon Brinkley’s fun mosaic applique technique. Using fusible web, you’ll learn how to create colourful, mosaic-style applique designs that come together quickly and are full of personality. With plenty of templates to choose from, this addictive technique is easy to learn, suitable for all skill levels and opens the door to endless creative possibilities.
In class you will create a unique scrappy applique quilt using your choice of templates while learning the process. You will learn Shannon Brinkley’s Scrappy Applique technique
By the end of the workshop, you will have a completed (or nearly) colourful scrappy applique quilt top, ready for quilting.

Class Requirements
SECRETS OF SCRAPPY APPLIQUE WITH JANINE JUDGE
One-day Class: Friday, April 16
Class times: 10am to 5pm
Materials fee: OPTIONAL $30
Payable direct to the tutor. Please have the exact amount in cash in an envelope with your name on it.
The kit includes:
- Mistyfuse
- Fusible interfacing
- Tear away stabiliser
You will need to bring:
- One printed Scrappy Applique Template available from https://shannon-brinkley.mykajabi.com/patternshomepage
- Various fabric for the applique piece (approx 5 -10 fat eighths)
- Background fabric
- Thread that coordinates with the collage fabric
- A large Teflon sheet or baking paper
- Clear polyester thread
- Usual sewing supplies – scissors, pins
- Rotary cutter and mat
- Non disappearing marking utensil (eg Chalk or Micron pen)
And if you choose not to purchase the kit you will also need to bring:
- Fusible web (Mistyfuse or paper backed), approx double the size of the applique template
- Fusible interfacing, lightweight, non-woven, (approx size of applique template)
- Tear away stabiliser (approx size of applique template)
Sewing machines will be provided.
To complete the project at home: you will need the remainder of the backing fabric, wadding and binding fabric.
