MOSAIC BANKSIA ART QUILT

Celebrate the beauty of the banksia in this fun workshop.
Using a mosaic fabric collage technique, you will transform fabric scraps into a vibrant semi abstract textile artwork full of colour and texture.
Designed as a project to learn the technique, this workshop will equip you with a versatile approach that can be adapted to your own creative ideas long after the class is over.
You will learn to use repositionable fusible web to build a mosaic style fabric collage
Expected outcome: By the end of the day, you will have created (or be well on the way to) a striking semi abstract banksia artwork and gained the skills/confidence to use this technique in your own projects.
Skill level: All levels.

Class Requirements
MOSAIC BANKSIA ART QUILT WITH JANINE JUDGE
One-day Class: Thursday, April 15
Class times: 10am to 5pm
Materials fee: OPTIONAL $25
Payable direct to the tutor. Please have the exact amount in cash in an envelope with your name on it.
The kit includes:
- Sun dyed background fabric
- Lite Steam-a-seam 2
You will need to bring:
- Banksia photo as reference (or use mine)
- Marking pen/pencil
- Fabric scraps for your design
- Paper and fabric scissors
- Wadding and backing fabric for quilting
- Usual sewing supplies
- Matching thread
Also if you choose not to purchase the kit, please bring:
- Sun dyed background fabric (approx 45 x 40cm)
- Lite Steam-a-seam 2
Sewing machines will be provided.
To complete the project at home: you will need binding/facing fabric.
