MY LAKE ADVENTURE
TUTOR: EMMA JEAN JANSEN
Around The Lake is a two-day workshop featuring Emma’s Rectangle Drunkard’s Path block. Over the two days you’ll learn Emma’s curved piecing techniques while working one of three quilt designs.
Before the class, you’ll need to decide which version you’d like to make:
- Around The Lake – the original scrappy version with a classic circular design.
- Around The Lake 2 – uses the same piecing method but with carefully planned colour placement for a completely different look.
- Lake Garden – transforms the circle into a beautiful flower centre.
Your chosen pattern will be included in your class kit. The pattern includes multiple quilt sizes, so you’ll also need to decide which size you’d like to make before class and purchase fabric accordingly using the supplied fabric requirements.
Students will spend time planning their quilt and exploring fabric placement to achieve the look they want. Throughout the two-day workshop, they will learn and gain confidence sewing the Rectangle Drunkard’s Path curved seam, along with techniques for accurate cutting, piecing and pressing.
By the end of the class, students will have mastered the construction method and completed a substantial number of blocks, giving them an excellent start on their quilt top.
Skill level: Recommended for confident beginners and beyond.
