Tame tricky techniques with ease in this fun, playful workshop with Barbie Mitchell! Oops a Daisy is a dedicated hand piecing class designed to build your confidence with two essential skills: stitching smooth, gentle curves and tackling crisp Y-seams without fear.
Barbie will guide you step-by-step through setting up your templates, marking seamlines, and mastering precision stitching by hand.
During the class you will make a start on Barbie’s Oops-a-Daisy Quilt, or a European cushion cover. Before class wraps up, Barbie will host a quick demonstration of the project’s needleturn appliqué border, so you know exactly how to complete your quilt version at home!
Learn the techniques of perfect hand piecing, curves & Y-seams.

ONE-DAY CLASS: Saturday, April 17
Class times: 9am to 5pm
Materials fee: $40
Payable direct to the tutor. Please have the exact amount in cash in an envelope with your name on it.

You will need to bring:
Fabrics (for Class Only)
- Backgrounds: Six × Fat 1/8ths of tone-on-tone / low-volume fabrics
- Daisies: Six × Fat 1/8ths of colourful prints
Tools
- Milliners Size 10 needles
- 80wt or 50wt thread
- Medium-sized fabric scissors
- Sewline trio pencil or your preferred marking pencil
- Optional: Sandpaper board
Full pattern fabric requirements to complete the project at home will be provided with the pattern in your class kit.
Tip: Feel free to raid your stash! Focus on creating good contrast between your low-volume backgrounds and colourful prints.
