2027 Class – Improvisational Colour Studies

IMPROVISATIONAL COLOUR STUDY

TUTOR: ANNABEL WRIGLEY

Improvisational Colour Studies: A Day of Creative Exploration

Spend a day exploring the power of colour, composition, and improvisational piecing as you create your own small-scale colour study.

We’ll experiment with both traditional and unexpected improvisational techniques, exploring how shape, line, scale, and composition can work together to create a unique and dynamic design. Colour will be our superpower as we play with unexpected combinations and discover how different colour relationships can completely transform a composition.

Once your study is complete, we’ll take it one step further with machine quilting and finishing techniques, adding texture and dimension while learning how to turn your small quilt into a polished piece of art.

You’ll leave class with a finished, quilted piece ready to hang on your wall—and plenty of new ideas for incorporating improvisation and colour into your future work.

Come ready to experiment, play with colour, and discover
