Print & Stitch
TUTOR: LOIS PARISH EVANS
Using the Eucalypt leaf as inspiration we will explore ways of creating a personal design through the use of rubber stamping and mark making with hand stitching on mixed media card.
To achieve this, participants will learn and explore the following techniques:
- Basic design skills
- Stamping/simple printmaking process
- Hand colouring using Inktense pencils
- Hand stitching to enhance printed design
No art or design experience is necessary.
Outcomes:
- Participants will learn simple design development.
- Learn to create a print, hand-colour a print and incorporate hand stitching.
- Creation of a small mixed media textile artwork, approximately 25cm x 35cm.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS
Print & Stitch with Lois Parish Evans
One-day Class: Friday, April 10
Class times: 10am to 5pm
Materials fee: $15 for rubber stamps, ink pads, Inktense pencils, mixed media paper x 2 per participant – please have the exact amount in cash in an envelope with your name on it.
You will need to bring:
- 10 x A4 computer paper
- HB pencil
- Paper and fabric scissors
- Embroidery needles (Lois uses a packet that has sizes 5-10)
- Perle 8 cotton or stranded cotton in various colours – green, blue, brown, cream, red, or colours that appeal
- An awl (optional but can be useful)
