Slow Stitching with French Treasures
TUTOR: LISA MATTOCK
In this class you’ll make a Slow Stitched panel from reclaimed French textiles hand picked by the Forage team at the Paris flea markets in March.
The panel wil be approximately 30cm x 40cm and Lisa will show you how it can be easily attached to a cushion, bag or maybe a jacket. You’ll learn how to construct the Slow Stitched panel and then embellish each piece with applique, embroidery, buttons and beads. You’ll learn simple embroidery stitches and how to use them to great effect and come away with a unique piece to use on the project of your choice.
Skill level: Beginner to advanced. The only prior knowledge required is running stitch. Advanced attendees may want to use more complex techniques.
