Two spectacular large-scale works by Velda Newman will be a highlight of the 2017 AQC Quilt Show.

Velda creates quilts of exceptional beauty featuring natural subjects such as flowers, fish, shells and fruit. Her quilts have a painterly quality and the workmanship is exceptional.
Velda Newman lives in Northern California and is an internationally recognised contemporary textile artist, author and teacher. Her work has been exhibited at the Shelburne Museum and many quilt shows, and she has been published in many highly regarded publications including The Art Quilt and Quilter’s Newsletter.
Velda’s Hydrangea quilt was included as one of the 100 best American quilts of the 20th century. She will teach a four-day class at AQC 2017.
