11am: Easy English Paper Piecing and Appliqué – the Iron-on Way. Helen Stubbings, Hugs ‘n Kisses, Stand 8.

Iron it on, leave it in…it can’t get any easier. Helen will share EPP iron-ons and perfect appliqué methods, new products and patterns plus exciting appliqué paper news! Free coupo voucher for all attendees.

12noon: Hitomezashi – One Stitch – Samplers. Jane MacDonald, BeBe Bold – Japanese Textiles, Stand 24.

Jane will explain and demonstrate how to stitch the new Hitomezashi (one stitch) sampler cloths that include weaving. The patterns are pre-stencilled and are a delight to stitch.

12.30pm: Quilting with Templates. Leonie West, Punch with Judy, Stand 114.

Leonie introduces new products from Westalee Design to create stunning quilting designs for your quilts using a ruler foot on your domestic sewing machine.

1.30pm: Discover New Threads and What Impact They Can Have on Your Work. Barrie Ashton, Wonderfil Specialty Threads, Stand 188.

Finally a metallic heavy 12 weight thread to go through the machine needle. Samples will show how amazing they look and how easy they are to use – a glow in the dark thread to excite children’s quilts, and learn how to use Iron n Fuse and Rinse n Gone threads. Plus other thread weights and how you can use them to enhance your work.

11am: How to Design and Plan your own QuiltAs-You-Go Quilt, Monica Poole, Margaret’s Fabrics, Stand 148.

Monica’s new book, The Quilt As You Go Planner, takes the hard work out of designing your own quilts. Whether you would like to make a cot, single or queen size quilt, it’s all there, from the layout to cutting instructions and quilt as you go methods. Monica will show you just how easy it is to design your own quilt as you go quilt along with lots of great tips and advice along the way.

Get expert tips and advice on how to make your own stylish and functional handbags. Monica will take the mystery out of interfacing, talk about different types of fabric, hardware, straps, demonstrate how to make easy zipper pockets and show you a wonderful new water-proofing product.
